MVA Leads Virginia for Law Firms — Since 2009

Virginia MVA Leads, Screened for Contributory Negligence

Virginia is one of the last places in the country where a claimant who contributed to a crash in any degree can recover nothing. Most lead vendors still deliver Virginia files the way they deliver Texas files — and a claimant who drifted over a lane line or turned on a stale yellow arrives in your inbox looking exactly like a signable one. We rebuilt our Virginia intake around the fault question first.

The Industry's Best Quality Guarantee

Exclusive Virginia Car, Truck & Motorcycle Accident Leads,
Matched to Your Ideal Client Profile

Virginia is an at-fault state, and it still follows pure contributory negligence: if the claimant’s own negligence contributed to the crash in any degree, recovery is generally barred. That makes how the crash happened — not just how badly the claimant was hurt — the first thing that decides whether a Virginia file is worth signing, followed by the other driver’s limits and how the injury is documented.

Over the last 15 years, we've refined our MVA lead generation process to deliver Virginia law firms highly qualified, ready-to-intake claimants - screened for fault, coverage and treatment before they reach you. If a lead doesn't match your criteria, we replace it free.

Every campaign is delivered the way your intake team actually works - as web leads, live transfers, or fully signed MVA retainers - so Virginia car, truck and motorcycle accident cases arrive ready for the stage of your funnel that needs them.

How claimants get qualified

Where the Volume Is

Northern Virginia, Richmond & Hampton Roads

In 2025 Virginia recorded 115,858 police-reported crashes, 47,317 of them involving injuries, 74,194 people injured and 825 traffic deaths. Fairfax County alone logged 11,564 crashes, and the five largest localities — Fairfax, Prince William, Chesterfield, Henrico and Virginia Beach — account for more than a quarter of the state. We weight our Virginia car accident lead generation accordingly — and we cap geographic exclusivity because in Northern Virginia we would rather have one firm at volume than four firms racing each other to a phone.

Three operational notes that out-of-state vendors tend to miss.

1 Fault is screened first, not last. Under contributory negligence the claimant’s own fault can end the case. We record the claimant’s account of the crash, any citation issued to either driver, and what the police report says — and claimants who describe their own error are not sold as clean liability.
2 Local defendants have a six-month clock. A claim against a Virginia county, city or town requires written notice within six months (Va. Code §15.2-209); claims against the Commonwealth require notice within one year (§8.01-195.6). We flag transit, police and government-vehicle crashes at intake rather than letting you find out in month five.
3 Coverage is captured up front. Virginia’s minimum limits rose to 50/100/25 on January 1, 2025, and the uninsured-vehicle fee option ended in July 2024 — yet roughly 12.9% of Virginia drivers were still uninsured in 2023. We ask about the at-fault carrier and the claimant’s own UM/UIM before you buy.

Virginia Law at Intake

Seven Virginia Rules,
and What We Can Actually Verify

We can tell you what the claimant reports, what the police report says, who insures the other driver, and whether the claimant is still treating. We cannot tell you whether a Fairfax County jury will find the claimant contributorily negligent — and any vendor who implies otherwise is selling you a story.

Virginia RuleWhat It Means for the FileVerifiable at Intake?
Pure Contributory Negligence
Virginia common law
Any negligence by the claimant that contributed to the crash generally bars recovery entirely. Virginia is one of only a handful of U.S. jurisdictions that still applies the rule. Partially. The claimant’s account, citations and police-report details are recorded; a fault finding is for the jury.
Last Clear Chance
Virginia common law
A narrow exception: a negligent claimant may still recover if the defendant had the last clear opportunity to avoid the crash and failed to take it. Partially. Crash sequence and timing are captured so you can assess it; whether it applies is a legal judgment.
Two-Year Statute
Va. Code §8.01-243(A)
Personal injury claims arising from a crash must be filed within two years of the accident. Yes. The accident date is timestamped, and files near the deadline are flagged rather than quietly delivered.
Notice of Claim
Va. Code §15.2-209 & §8.01-195.6
Written notice within six months for claims against a county, city or town; within one year for claims against the Commonwealth. Yes. Government vehicles, transit and road-condition crashes are flagged at intake.
Joint & Several Liability
Va. Code §8.01-443
Virginia keeps joint and several liability, so a claimant can collect the full judgment from any liable defendant — which makes identifying every responsible party worth the effort. Partially. All vehicles, employer or commercial involvement, and rideshare status are recorded.
Minimum Liability Limits
Va. Code §46.2-472
Since January 1, 2025, required coverage is $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident and $25,000 property damage. Serious injuries still exceed it. Partially. The at-fault carrier is captured when the claimant has it; actual limits come later.
UM / UIM Coverage
Va. Code §38.2-2206
Virginia auto policies must carry uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, generally matching liability limits unless the insured chose lower limits — critical when about one in eight drivers is uninsured. Yes, as reported. We ask about the claimant’s own UM/UIM before the lead is sold.

Intake screening is a documented classification recorded at intake. It is not legal advice, and it is not a guarantee about how any court or jury will rule. Statutes have exceptions; firms should confirm current text and how it applies to a given file with their own counsel.

Who This Is For

Quality at an Affordable Price

If your model is buy-cheap-and-sift, we are the wrong vendor and we will say so on the call. We work with Virginia plaintiff firms that sign a minority of what they are shown and want that minority to be larger — contingency practices where a file that dies on contributory negligence costs months of work before anyone notices.

Questions Attorneys Ask

Virginia MVA Leads,
Answered Plainly

If a question you have is not here, ask it on the call. We would rather lose a deal on a straight answer than win one on a vague one.

Yes. Virginia applies pure contributory negligence: if a claimant’s own negligence contributed to the crash in any degree, recovery is generally barred. The main exception is the last clear chance doctrine. That is why we screen fault first — recording the claimant’s account, any citations and the police report details before a lead is sold.
No. Virginia is an at-fault (tort) state. The at-fault driver’s liability insurer pays for the injuries they cause, and there is no no-fault threshold to clear before suing for pain and suffering — but the contributory negligence rule makes liability the first real question about any Virginia MVA lead.
Two years from the date of the crash for most personal injury claims (Va. Code §8.01-243(A)). Claims against government defendants are shorter: written notice within six months for a county, city or town (§15.2-209), and within one year for the Commonwealth (§8.01-195.6). We timestamp the accident date and flag government crashes at intake.
One firm. Not one to three. We put it in the contract because at least one competitor uses the word "exclusive" while disclosing that leads go to one to three suppliers, and the word has stopped meaning anything without a number attached.
Virginia pricing is quoted by lead type and by market — Northern Virginia inventory prices differently from Richmond, Hampton Roads and rural localities. What a lead is worth to your firm comes down to signing rate, so we run the cost-per-signed-case math with you before you buy. Ask any vendor who will not quote you why.
Credit. Duplicate, already represented, outside the statute, misrepresented injury, wrong territory — flag it and it’s credited. Intake screening is a documented classification recorded at intake, not a guarantee about how a court or jury will rule, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
Northern Virginia — Fairfax County, Arlington, Alexandria, Prince William and Loudoun — plus the Richmond metro including Henrico and Chesterfield, Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Newport News, Hampton, Portsmouth), and Roanoke, Lynchburg, Fredericksburg and Charlottesville. Exclusivity by county or independent city.
Most campaigns move from signed agreement to first lead usually within 7 days, depending on target localities, lead type, and monthly volume.
